Data Reconciliation in SAP Central Finance

SAP Central Finance replicates data from source system so its important to have data reconciled from business perspective and accuracy is the key.

For source SAP systems below standard reports are provided by SAP

Central Finance: Comparison of FI Document Headers

This report counts the number of journal entries that need to have been transferred to the Central Finance system and checks whether they have been transferred correctly. The counter allows you to detect issues at a glance.

Prerequisites

  • You have authorization for the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_FI_NUM.
  • You have display authorization for the company code of the source system for which you want to run the report (authorization object F_BKPF_BUK).

Features

The report selects accounting documents that need to be replicated to the Central Finance system, compares the document headers of the journal entries, and identifies any journal entries that are missing in the Central Finance system. It counts the number of journal entries in both the source system and the Central Finance system. Although the document numbers in the source system differ from those in the Central Finance system, the document number of the original journal entry (accounting document) is also saved in the Central Finance system in the journal entry header. The report uses table BKPF to compare journal entries.

To access this report, call up the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_FI_NUM. This transaction is also part of the user role SAP_SFIN_CFIN_ACCOUNTANT, which can be assigned to your user.

Central Finance: Comparison of FI Balances

This report shows the debit balance, the credit balance, the balances total, and the currencies of your general ledger (G/L) accounts in both the source system and the Central Finance system, for a specified fiscal year or posting period.

You execute this report in the Central Finance system for the purpose of checking whether G/L account balances in the source system match the corresponding balances in the Central Finance system. You can choose whether you want to compare balances in group currency, in company code currency or in transaction currency. The currencies and the respective amounts are displayed in the results screen, and the currency that you chose is highlighted. If the company code currencies in the source system and the Central Finance system differ, you can use the transaction currency to compare the balances.

The report compares the debit and credit amounts for selected G/L accounts for a selected period and displays the following for each G/L account and month:

  • Debit amount
  • Credit amount
  • Account balance

Prerequisites

  • You have authorization for the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_FI_BAL.
  • You have display authorization for the company code of the source system for which you want to run the report (authorization object F_BKPF_BUK) and you have authorization to display FI totals records.

Features

The main purpose of this report is to check whether a debit or credit amount has been posted in the Central Finance system for each corresponding debit or credit G/L account balance in the source system.

The report uses the G/L account number in the source system to compare the balances. As the ledger in the source system is not persisted in the journal entries posted in the Central Finance system, the report works best if the ledger names in both the source system and the Central Finance system are the same and have not been mapped. If you do not select any ledger in the source system, or if the new General Ledger Accounting is not active in the source system, the report compares the totals from the source system with the values from the leading ledger in Central Finance.

To access this report, call up the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_FI_BAL. This transaction is also part of the user role SAP_SFIN_CFIN_ACCOUNTANT, which can be assigned to your user.

Central Finance: Comparison of FI Line Items

You use this report to compare line items on your general ledger (G/L) accounts in the source system with line items on your G/L accounts in the Central Finance system for a selected period.

You execute this report in the Central Finance system for the purpose of checking whether there are line items in the Central Finance system corresponding to all line items for selected G/L accounts in the source system and whether the line items have the same amounts. You can choose whether you want to compare line items in group currency, in company code currency or in transaction currency. The currencies and the respective amounts are displayed in the results screen, and the currency that you chose is highlighted. If the company code currencies in the source system and the Central Finance system differ, you can use the transaction currency to compare the line items,

The report displays details of the line items in both the source system and the Central Finance system, such as the document number, fiscal year, G/L account, currency, and reference key.

Prerequisites

  • You have authorization for the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_FI_DOC.
  • You have display authorization for the company code of the source system for which you run the report (authorization object F_BKPF_BUK).

Features

The main purpose of this report is to check whether the debit and credit amounts of all line items for a selected G/L account and in a chosen period in a source system match those in the Central Finance system. This report uses the document header (table BKPF) and accounting document (table BSEG) in the source system and the journal entry (table ACDOCA) in the Central Finance system to compare the line items.

To access this report, call up the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_FI_DOC. This transaction is also part of the user role SAP_SFIN_CFIN_ACCOUNTANT, which can be assigned to your user.

  • You have display authorization for the controlling area and for the CO business transaction in the source system for which you want to run the report (authorization object K_VRGNG).

Features

It counts the controlling documents in the source system and in the Central Finance system.

You execute this report in the Central Finance system for the purpose of checking whether the debit or credit totals for cost elements used in secondary postings are identical in both the source system and the Central Finance system. You can choose whether you want to compare balances in controlling area currency or in transaction currency. Both currencies and the respective amounts are displayed in the results screen, and the currency that you chose is highlighted. If the controlling area currencies in the source system and the Central Finance system differ, you can use the transaction currency to compare the balances.

Prerequisites

  • You have authorization for the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_CO_BAL.
  • You have display authorization for the controlling area and CO business transaction in the source system for which you want to run the report (authorization object K_VRGNG).

Features

The main purpose of this report is to check whether a debit or credit total for each cost element has been posted in the Central Finance system for each corresponding amount in the source system.

The report determines the totals from CO internal postings (table COSS for the source system). For the Central Finance system, table ACDOCA is used. For the Central Finance system, the report reads the RACCT_SENDER field in the ACDOCA table to determine the totals. If this field is empty, then the report reads the mapping of cost elements to determine the totals. If no mapping exists for the cost elements, the original cost element number is used to derive the debit and credit amounts.

To access this report, call up the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_CO_BAL. This transaction is also part of the user role SAP_FIN_CFIN_ACCOUNTANT, which can be assigned to your user.

You can choose whether you want to compare line items in controlling area currency or in transaction currency. Both currencies and the respective amounts are displayed in the results screen, and the currency you chose is highlighted. Prerequisites

  • You have authorization for the transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_CO_DOC.
  • You have display authorization for the controlling area and the CO business transaction in the source system for which you want to run the report (authorization object K_VRGNG).

Features

This report uses the CO line items table (COEP) in the source system and the universal journal entry (table ACDOCA) in the Central Finance system to compare the CO line items.

To access this report, call up transaction FINS_CFIN_DFV_CO_DOC. This transaction is also part of the user role SAP_SFIN_CFIN_ACCOUNTANT, which can be assigned to your user.
